Telehealth sessions allow for you to engage in the therapeutic/counseling process in the comfort of your own home with easy access and flexibility. You can also engage in a session on your phone or tablet through the secure app if, for example, you aren't at home but still are wanting to attend your session.
Individual Counseling-
Individual counseling typically involves a single client and the counselor. The therapeutic relationship is built on trust and confidentiality between the counselor and the client. The process involves you and the counselor identifying a problem and working toward a goal or solution to remedy or resolve the problem. My role as your counselor is to guide and support you through this process using my experience, knowledge and expertise in reaching your identified goals.
Family Counseling-
Family counseling is designed to assess and make changes to the family system to improve the family dynamics and overall functioning of everyone in the family. Educating the family of their communication style, family norms and family roles are very helpful in creating a shift in making changes to the system.
There are many types of families each with their own unique challenges, including Blended Families, Non Traditional Families, Extended Families living together, Traditional Families and others. Regardless of the "type" of family, the overall process of assessing the family system and designing a plan to improve the system remains the same.
Couples Counseling-
Couples Counseling is a counseling relationship between myself and the couple. The process is similar to individual counseling in that a problem is identified and a goal to resolve that problem is set with steps taken by the couple and the therapist in the process. Topics often addressed in couples counseling include, intimacy, communication, money management, parenting styles, roles in the relationship and others.
Group Counseling-
Group Counseling is a modality used to engage more than two clients with myself as the facilitator in a group setting. Typically, clients are assigned to the group based on commonalities in areas they are working on in individual counseling. Groups are a combination of process and learning of information around the topics presented and discussed. Although it may be a bit intimidating to join a group of strangers, many people find that group counseling is more helpful than individual counseling due to the interaction with others facing similar issues as themselves. It allows for all to share and support each other and hold each other accountable from week to week. Typically a client will attend group sessions weekly with individual sessions as needed.
