There are many factors and details that should be considered when searching for a treatment program that's right for you. It begins with what specific and unique needs you have and finding a program that will adequately meet those needs. Many substance abuse programs claim to be able to treat and help most anyone regardless of the details. A good treatment plan starts with a good assessment that highlights the specific key areas the individual needs addressed. These will be unique for every single person.
Often people searching for treatment options will do a quick internet search while they are in crisis and call the first couple of programs that "pop up". Although this is one way to get started with the treatment process it's a bit risky. Many of the large treatment organizations spend an exorbitant amount of money to be at the top of the search list and have skilled admissions and sales personnel eager to sell their program after a very basic set of screening questions. It's not to say these programs aren't good, but they may or may not be a good fit for you. Let's be honest, they are likely to spend 15-20 minutes on the phone with you then offer to admit you to their program.
Your health and wellbeing are too important to leave up to a brief phone call with an individual who's goal is to admit you to their treatment program. In my experience, a good treatment outcome is the result of an accurate assessment of one's challenges and needs which in turn influence the selection of a treatment program that can confidently meet those therapeutic needs. This is where I can help. My role, as a career clinician with experience at all levels of addiction treatment care, is to take time to understand you and learn about your current circumstances with a thorough assessment.
The assessment is a process, not a single meeting. I will meet with you over a couple of sessions to understand your history, enabling me to put together recommendations for care that I believe best meet your needs along with recommendations for specific treatment programs. I will have you fill out questionnaires and screeners that I will use to assist in my assessment. I will analyze my findings and translate that into a written recommendation which will be reviewed with you and anyone else you would like to include.
I have an extensive network of treatment programs that I have direct knowledge of both in Colorado and nationwide. Again, I can't overstate the importance of slowing down and finding a treatment program that gives you the best chance of being successful in your journey to long term recovery. Give me a call today, I can help!
